Bourrasque - Brut NV (750ml)

Sometimes you can tell a lot from a wine’s label, sometimes not. This delicious sparkler from France is actually from the Loire Valley, and made from 100% Chenin Blanc (the grape varietal), both facts that aren’t mentioned on the label. What is there, however, is the term vin mousseux, which means that this is a fully sparkling wine, and the term brut, which means that it’s dry. Bourrasque means ‘gust of wind’, which alludes to the fresh quality of the wine on the palate. Except for the fact that it has a noticeable flavor of fruit, it tastes quite a bit like Champagne. At the price, it’s really a remarkable value. Only 11% alcohol! Try it with seafood, appetizers, and even soft cheeses. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what’s behind the label.
